He has coached within the Delta Youth Football League with The Tracy Raiders for 11 years and joining the Kimball High School staff for 6 years where he served as an assistant coach to both the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels and as a defensive coordinator on the Junior Varsity Level.

Coach James' philosophy is very simple, let's teach the athletes the fundamentals of the game and expand the athletes minds so that the disiplines within football fuse to the everyday life of the athletes within the classroom, community  and at home.

"As a coach I really don't worry about wins and loses as much as I focus on the fundamentals of the game. Teach them great habits and the wins tend to come by themselves. For me it's about building a program that is fundamentally sound!"

If you think about what it really is saying is keep your self-esteem high, trust in those who are your teammates, Develop a good and strong work ethic, and always remain Determine in achieving your goals.
